**Job Overview** Qualcomm through cVc brand has history on research, implementation and commercialization of low power speech enhancement algorithms available on consumer electronic products such as: Bluetooth headsets, Bluetooth speakers and others.
This position target new designs and improvements on Qualcomms existent solutions for multi microphone speech enhancements algorithms where the main application is multi microphone Bluetooth speakerphone.
+ Conduct state of the art research on beamforming speech enhancement algorithms using linear and non-linear microphone arrays, targeting near and far field applications.
+ Perform multi microphones algorithm integration with other existent algorithms on the speech communication systems, such as: acoustic echo cancellation, single microphone speech enhancement, automatic gain control and others.
+ Perform algorithm optimization regarding computational complexity, and data/program memory usage.
+ Maintenance and improvement of existing speech enhancement algorithm solutions including multi and single microphone noise reduction, acoustic echo cancellation, automatic gain control, voice activity detection, and other speech related algorithms.
+ Performing Research and Feasibility Studies including defining the scope and goals of audio research tasks and completion of detailed reports on results and recommendations for development activities.
+ Development of new algorithmic IP for speech enhancement processing solutions in the form of patent applications.
+ Development of new speech processing algorithms including the existing areas mentioned above and additionally including state of the art algorithms, such as: direction of arrival (DOA), speech de-reverberation, audibility and intelligibility enhancements, feedback control, stereo speech processing and other speech effects and enhancements.

+ PhD degree in electrical engineering with concentration on speech enhancement or related areas.
+ Publication records in scholarly conferences or journals with international circulation in the field of audio or speech processing
+ Experience with Matlab for algorithm development
+ Experience in algorithm design for real-time audio or speech signal processing **Experience in at least three technical fields from the following:**
+ Speech Enhancement using beamforming microphone array techniques
+ Frequency-domain or subband signal processing
+ Adaptive filtering in time and frequency domains
+ Direction of arrival and speech dereverberation algorithms
+ Real time implementation of speech algorithms on embedded systems
+ Experience in analysing audio problems using tools such as Matlab, Adobe Audition and objective evaluation tools
+ Ability to work without micromanagement
+ Willing to solve the challenging problems in the field of audio or speech processing
+ Excellent communications and organizational skills
+ Excellent team player
+ Familiarity with patent application process and IP filing strategies
+ Solid background knowledge in digital signal processing and mathematics
+ Strong knowledge and extensive working experience with C++ for algorithm development
+ Knowledge of fixed-point programming and effects on algorithm development
+ Ability to guide and assist members of the group on technical issues
+ Excellent technical writing and presentation skills
+ Knowledge of/experience with industry standards
