System software application engineering role requires audio system architecture expertise working in 5G-NR Modem technologies with DSDA to join the Automotive Telematics Application Engineering team. 5G-NR , Dual SIM Dual Active (DSDA) design presents significant challenges due to two radios being simultaneously active at the same time and with C-V2X concurrent operation use-case.
This role will involve supporting OEMs/Tier-1/Tier-2s with 5G-NR DSDA audio system architecture feature specific customizations from proof of concept to final product commercial launches. The individual will work with a team of dedicated experts to develop next generation Telematics products for connected vehicle – 5G-NR , DSDA technologies.
+ Provide Leadership to automotive telematics customer projects, detailed OEM customer architecture and software design reviews
+ Focus on 5GNR, DSDA designs. Provide timely inputs/feedback to internal product development and management teams for product software roadmap
+ Provide end-to-end system application engineering & debug support to customers.
+ Help OEMs to understand QCT modem software/solution, give customers training about QCT products.
+ Provide support for TCU/NAD/5G-NR/DSDA use-cases including 5GNR trials on customer products
+ Contribute to 5GNR- DSDA automotive system audio architecture documentation, user guides and application notes.
+ Build strong relationship with customers (OEM/ODM/Tier-1/2s) and deep involvement in the technical execution of the projects
+ The role requires interfacing with Automotive OEMs/Tier-1/2 software developers and Qualcomm engineers in brainstorming issues, solutions, test procedures, develop scripts, document various procedures

+ Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
+ 2+ years Software Applications Engineering, Software Development experience, or related work experience.
+ 2+ years experience with debugging techniques.
+ 2+ years experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
+ 2+ Years work experience in audio systems, architectures, embedded software and/or driver development
+ Extremely strong knowledge of C/C++ programming is mandatory
+ Knowledge of one or more Real-Time Operating Systems is preferred: (Android/Linux, QNX)
+ Understanding of ALSA, Audio Driver is mandatory
+ Thorough understanding of one or more multimedia frameworks viz., (OpenMAX, GStreamer, StageFright (NuPlayer), MMF) desirable
+ Exposure to Apple CarPlay, Baidu Car-Life, Android Auto, etc.
+ Sound understanding of ARM architectures (v7, v8).
+ Fluent in industry standard software development tools: debuggers, code revision control systems (GIT, Perforce), IDEs and build tools
+ Excellent knowledge of Audio and voice encoder formats – MP3, AAC, WMA, AC3, Dolby Digital, DTS, FLAC, AMR, EVRC, QCELP, etc.
+ Experience in audio/video processing pipeline implementation for media applications (playback, capture, transcoding, streaming, voice call, software defined radio, etc.).
+ Experience in Audio/Video pre- and post-processing algorithms for subjective quality enhancement – such as: EC/NS, ANC, ICC, AGC/ limiter, SRC, speech recognition, noise cancellation, natural language recognition, multi-mic, multi-speaker algorithms, etc.; motion compensation & estimation, deinterlacing is a plus. Knowledge of computer vision, Audio/video Analytics (facial recognition, object recognition), streaming and networking protocols such as RTP, RTSP, HLS, Adaptive Bit Rate Streaming, HTTP, UDP, Bluetooth protocol. is a plus
+ Strong communication and interpersonal skills, high motivation, the ability to learn quickly, and must be a self-starter
+ Good coordination ability to co-work with internal and external teams.
Required: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
Preferred: Master’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
