Member of the automotive chipset architecture team contributing to the system design and implementation of automotive platforms using Qualcomm ICs and operating from San Diego.
Candidate will need to demonstrate strong analytical skills and familiarity with top-down engineering design. Must be capable of converting high-level product requirements into architecture trade-offs and design parameters.
Experience with analysis and/or design of various power regulator topologies as well as familiarity with Power Grid Topologies and power distribution performance and challenges. Candidate will be responsible for system power grid designs for automotive devices.
Candidate will drive the use of key performance indicators (KPI) power, cost, board area, performance, etc. and ability to trade-off design parameters against KPIs.
Must have knowledge of current and evolving semiconductor technologies and their impact on chipset architecture. Will work closely with internal and external software, hardware and test teams across global sites and time zones.
Automotive System design and use case analysis to evaluate architectural changes to existing and new platforms. Candidate will be responsible for documentation and presentation of analysis and results to core teams and management.

+ Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
+ 8+ years Systems Engineering or related work experience.
10+ years of design and architecture experience of SoC Chipsets based automotive and/or mobile platforms, or products, such as smartphones, laptops or tablets.
Excellent communication skills are required.
Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, etc.) is required.
Must have high initiative and be capable of delivering quality work with little to no direction.
Need to drive complex projects across multiple teams in a leadership role.
Knowledge of inter-chip interfaces is a plus. Experience with PMIC and Digital product optimization and chipset partitioning analysis, power distribution network analysis and architecture, or high-speed interface signal integrity/power integrity analysis and architecture is a plus. Experience with Infotainment and Connectivity chipsets and architectures a plusExperience with automotive power supply designs and Automotive standards such as AEC-Q100 and ISO26262 is a plus
Experience with Automotive or mobile BSP and Apps software such as Android, Linux, or QNX is a plus.
Required: Bachelor’s, Computer Engineering and/or Computer Science and/or Electrical Engineering
Preferred: Master’s, Computer Engineering and/or Computer Science and/or Electrical Engineering
