Job Overview

This position requires hands-on system software design and problem solving skills to implement the next generation of products in infotainment, autonomous driving, safety and telematics working with Ter1s, OEMs and industry partners. The engineer will be involved in analyzing/planning out next generation system software architecture for Linux-based automotive solutions, and implementing new solutions ranging across the software stack including application boot loaders, kernel, user spaces such as Android and Yocto, and application frameworks to enable compelling end-to-end use cases exercising the full capability of Qualcomm Snapdragon hardware. The engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams across multiple locations to define the system solutions and working through to commercialization. Work assignments require theoretical and practical knowledge in the areas of C/C++ programming and interfacing with operating systems, along with power and performance tuning expertise on embedded systems. The candidate should also be familiar with embedded system hardware and board design. Experience with multimedia, vehicle network or external module peripherals is preferred.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.

5+ years Software Engineering or related work experience.

2+ years experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

5+ Years professional work experience in embedded/automotive software and/or driver development, architecture / systems engineering on ARM SoCs on Linux/Android/QNX/INTEGRITY etc.

3+ Years experience with SoC architectures, heterogenous IPs in SoCs, distributed compute paradigms, high-speed interconnects (PCIe, CCIX etc.)

5+ Years experience with ARM SoCs in areas such as CPU (SMP/HMP), MMU/SMMU, Virtualization extensions, Cryptography extensions, etc.

3+ Years experience with architectural capability analysis in addressing system design challenges such as multi-OS virtualization and multi-domain boot architecture

5+ Years experience with low level software/hardware interface design and debugging.

3+ Years experience with industry standard software development tools: HSW/HE debuggers, code revision control systems (GIT, Perforce), IDEs and build tools.

3+ years of experience in any of the automotive technologies related to vehicle networks, AUTOSAR, IS026262, ADAS and machine learning and tools

Experience in coordination with multiple technology teams, program and product teams, and test engineering

Experience in bottoms-up and top-down design based on analysis of E2E use cases

Experience with software development processes such as Automotive SPICE/CMM/ASIL-A

Experience in system performance estimation (eg. bandwidth, memory, power) and characterization for concurrent use cases

Excellent oral and written communication skills to work with developers across the different sites

Education Requirements
