Overview

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Clerical/Eligibility Assistant shall be responsible for providing clerical assistance to the CSBG Program and assist with client eligibility determination process. Shall file, copy, perform data entry, update files and records, log and prepare mail. Answer and screen incoming program calls and route appropriately.

REQUIREMENTS: Two (2) years clerical work experience demonstrating the knowledge and abilities; or any combination of work experience and education or training in secretarial classes which equal two (2) years.

KNOWLEDGE OF: Modern office methods, procedures and practices; general social service delivery program in California; telephone etiquette; interviewing methods and techniques; Microsoft Office programs.

ABILITY TO: Obtain information from clients concerning program eligibility and needs as it pertains to the CSBG Program; organize and maintain files and records; communicate with the public; meet deadlines; operate office and computer equipment; operate multi-line telephone equipment.

STARTING SALARY: $13.66 to $14.50 per hour DOE
