**Job Description:**

**Basic Purpose-**


Provide consultative leadership and analytics subject matter expertise for business partners to evolve category and cross-category business strategy that optimizes product portfolio objectives (assortment, pricing and promotions).

Leverage core best practices within the analytic team to develop, evangelize and adjust common metrics and methodology for reporting and analysis that align with overall business strategy and individual business partner needs. Ensure that the vast majority of analyses used are repeatable across categories.

Develop and refine methodology for test designs and core analyses to enhance common and future analytic practices across organization.

Draft business requirements for reporting and analysis improvement to facilitate technical enhancements.

Maintain a thorough understanding of available data elements, their organizational structure, their contribution to core-KPI metrics and the technical infrastructure within which they reside, recognizing the importance to improve data reliability through derivation, modeling, segmentation and aggregation of not just transactional/product characteristics but also other useful dimensions such as customer, time, location, basket-affinity.

Serve as a ‘Power User’ of third party applications for assigned Category Management team with respect to exception/ad hoc reporting/analyses, advanced querying and complex data aggregations and analyses not supported by a single application.

Elevate the effectiveness of data analytics by: routinely sharing and collaborating with peers to improve the standardization and sophistication of analytic services; ensuring Category Team’s analyses are focused, concise, insights-driven, strategically aligned and action-oriented; leveraging advanced quantitative methodology such as product and customer segmentations and statistical modeling.

Understand and represent Regional/Divisional requirements within Category teams to ensure merchandising solutions meet these needs.

Train internal clients on new desktop software applications focused on streamlining data queries and applying innovative, insightful data analysis.

*Education/Training:* Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science or related field required; MBA preferred.

*Related Experience:* 6 years relevant business experience required. Prior experience designing financial models and forecasting required. Prior foodservice, food retailing or food manufacturing experience preferred. Prior finance or economics experience preferred. Minimum 1 year project management experience preferred.

*Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:*Has successfully worked in a complex organization which supports a variety of stakeholders. Has been intimately involved in the development of strategies to solve complex business problems related to product sourcing and the development of measurements and analysis to support decision making. As such, must have a deep understanding of sourcing supply base. Requires advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with querying and complex report writing through non-MS applications [e.g. SQL]’ as well as excellent communications skills to advocate, train and implement new methodologies and influence/drive category strategy as well as effectively develop and communicate assessments and recommendations
