As a Digital ASIC Designer in Wireless Research, you are expected to develop block level micro-architectures, the associated RTL code, and help test these designs in the lab. You will be responsible for translating requirements to micro-architecture, creating area and power estimates, implementing in Verilog/System Verilog, working with verification team and providing inputs on test plan, and testing your design in the lab to ensure it meets functional and performance requirements.

You will be working as part of a larger team and should have good communication skills to interact with the Digital Design team, as well as Software, Systems, and the Verification teams.

The work environment is fast paced and dynamic so candidates should be flexible in their work assignments and task priorities. The ability to learn new technical skills and a willingness to adapt to new projects and project priorities is crucial. Successful candidates are must be highly motivated and focused in delivering designs that meet the design and development goals of the project.

Minimum Qualifications

+ Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, or related field.

+ 2+ years ASIC design, verification, or related work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

+ Communication Theory and Digital Signal Processing: modulation/demodulation, digital filters, FFTs, error-correction, etc.

+ Processor Designs, on-chip network and buses, cross-bars, and data movers

+ RTL: Verilog or VHDL

+ FPGA design tools and flows: Floor Planning, Synthesis, Place & Route, Static Timing Analysis

+ Scripting and automation: Python, Perl, Linux shell programming, XML

+ Excellent oral and written communication skills

Education Requirements

Required: Bachelor’s, Computer Engineering and/or Electrical Engineering

Preferred: Master’s, Computer Engineering and/or Electrical Engineering
