Director, IT Digital Transformation for Hardware IP
California – San Diego
He/she will be responsible for the transformation of Qualcomms IP lifecycle management supporting chip hardware design teams worldwide. This includes closely collaborating with design team stakeholders at all levels of the organization (Directors, Functional Leads, etc.) to identify and implement software solutions that streamlines and enhances IP management workflow, business processes and governance processes. In addition, he/she will define solution architectures and drive solution implementation. The successful candidate will drive benchmarking and influence business stakeholders to enhance IT Value Proposition.
The ideal candidate will identify and drive digital transformation opportunities across HW requirements, Defect Mgmt, Source Code Management, IP Catalog, Third Party IP Management and convergence.
Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:
Leading multiple teams – technical leads, systems analysts, software engineers, QA analysts, etc.
Defining strategic roadmap and delivering to the vision of best-in-class service capabilities to Qualcomms engineering teams.
He/she will identify services delivery platforms and solutions in the following areas – design IP repository, SOC software builds and distribution, online issue management, reporting systems, predictive analytics, etc.
Driving robust processes for requirements specifications, prioritization and solution development that supports a large worldwide user base. This includes active management of user groups and stakeholder alignment of capabilities roadmap and delivery plans.
Defining and implementing use case driven system validation methodology and robust release management processes. This includes defining and leading user interface prototyping efforts.
Implementing business and system indicators for usability, performance, reliability, availability and driving gap closure internally on custom solutions and vendor products.
Engaging customers in requirements definition, deployment planning and execution and delivering end user training as needed
Implementing user deployment and change management processes for software releases.
Establishing team structure and robust operational processes that provide level 3 customer support to engineering teams worldwide.
Completing ongoing industry benchmarking of IT capabilities in semiconductor industry and influence stakeholders on roadmap and priorities. Follow that up with flawless execution of roadmap.
Implementing systems to monitor overall system health (usability, performance, reliability, availability, support) and driving gap closure across business and IT
Reporting services performance in monthly/quarterly management meetings within IT and Engineering at the director levels.
Candidate may lead several projects &/or programs simultaneously and influencing multiple stakeholders in strategy execution. This includes but not limited to definition of people roles, customer SLAs, services costing and customer service indicators.
Own vendor management at all levels for all products in scope for the organization feature enhancements, post-deployment defect closure, etc. as needed.

+ Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of IT-relevant work experience OR 10+ years of IT-relevant work experience without a bachelors degree.
+ 5+ years supervisory or leadership experience.
+ 3+ years of work experience in a role requiring interaction with senior leadership (e.g., VP level and above).
Demonstrated recent experience in Agile software development providing digital services in the high-tech industry
Strong preference will be given to candidates who have managed IP management systems in the semiconductor industry (Clearcase or Design Sync is a definite plus)
Include demonstrated experience with User interface development based on use cases with solid user experience improvement
Vendor management demonstrated experience for enhancements, bug fix prioritization..
Experience translating business needs to cost effective IT solution strategy that includes application of appropriate information technologies in solution architecture definition
Demonstrated experience managing high performance teams.
Experience identifying and championing win-win strategies that balances scope and schedule expectations of customers with realities of budget and resource/skill availability.
Demonstrated experience in business process streamlining and transformation that includes disciplined approach to digitized services enabling.
Project/program and team management skills. Experience with all stages of software development lifecycle.
Passionate about operational excellence in delivery and support of digital solutions.
Effective cross-functional collaboration skills (multiple business units, IT, Engineering).
Outstanding communication, organization and interpersonal skills.
