The primary purpose of this position is to effectively perform key accounting processes and deliver accurate and timely accounting information for US Foods. Will perform duties associated with period close, effective operation of internal controls and process improvements. Will also implement and maintain production reporting system designed to measure yields and labor efficiency. Develop accurate product cost for manufactured and stock items. Provide subject matter expertise in assigned areas to finance team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Partner with division leadership team on daily business issues, forecasts and the development of the annual operating plan. Keep the team apprised of key financial results.
+ Develop and maintain production reporting system to measure and report yield and labor efficiency. Working with division and regional operations, identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve operational efficiency.
+ Complete assigned duties to ensure the accurate and timely delivery of financial results for internal and external (SEC) reporting requirements through a robust monthly/quarterly close process.
+ Perform complex account reconciliations and analysis and partner with finance and division management teams. Ensure timely and accurate accounting recognition of costs and to support the related planning and analysis.
+ Support accounting research and analysis related to complex transactions and projects, ensuring proper and timely accounting positions are established in accordance with GAAP and SEC requirements.
+ Perform SOX related controls in the corporate areas ensuring prudent compliance.
+ Participate in assigned audit efforts to ensure timely reporting and sound controls.
+ Oversee the development and maintenance of accurate cost for manufactured and stock items.
+ Oversee perpetual inventory process to ensure accurate records.
+ Manage division capital plan to budget. Work with division leadership to identify opportunities to improve profits with available capital. Prioritize projects based on operational need and return on investment.
+ Identify process improvement opportunities and take ownership of assigned responsibilities.
+ Provide guidance and assistance to staff as required for training and to enhance team development. Ensure all company policies and procedures are being followed.

*Education/Training:* BA/BS in Accounting required. CPA and/or CMA a plus.
*Related Experience:* Must possess minimum of 4 years of progressive finance and accounting experience with emphasis on production reporting, general ledger accounting and account reconciliation. Experience in a manufacturing or distribution company preferred.
*Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:* Self motivated. Strong attention to detail. Ability to work in a deadline-oriented environment. Strong personal initiative, enthusiasm, result orientation and resourcefulness. Willingness to take ownership of area. Excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills. Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel. People Soft Financials experience preferred.
