**Basic Purpose-**

The Lead Designer is responsible for the development, design and manage all aspects of assigned marketing campaigns related to USF brands (Exclusive brand (EB) and Manufactured Brands (MB)), platforms (Foodsite, etc) and initiatives in alignment with established category strategies – including managing project budget and measuring project ROI. Also, designer is responsible for the development process, input, and expertise on the usability and design for User Interaction (UI) patterns for our online platforms. Develop design parameters, visual representations, comps and wireframes for all new product functionality.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

+ Collaborates with Category Management and other stakeholders to determine and define the scope and objectives of assigned marketing campaigns. The Lead Graphic Designer will manage assigned project including; design, third-party resources, production and project budget, while driving execution of assigned projects.
+ Design, develop, and implement robust UI’s for our digital customer experience. Define interactive UI prototypes that illustrate and document the desired online experience and are employed to facilitate the user testing process.
+ Proactively identify opportunities to improve usability, streamline and optimize the client experience. Review market and competitive intelligence, business drivers, needs and strategies with business and technology partners to understand implications for existing or new interfaces; ensure customer point of view is represented in business, interface and technology decisions.
+ Oversees assigned project production from beginning to end, incorporating campaign elements (copywriting, photography, design, layout etc) to successfully communicate message to target audience, in alignment with established objectives.

+ Collaborates closely with category management and marketing leadership to establish guidelines and graphic standards related to the brand, and incorporate those guidelines and standards throughout the execution of assigned projects.

**Qualifications-**

+ 7 years of experience in graphic and UI design / visual development required, B2B experience and foodservice a plus.
+ Experience with Agile development, including prototype development.
+ Ability to synthesize complex, interdependent, and sometimes competing needs; Ability to run several projects at once.
+ Effective communication of design solutions across roles and levels.
+ Demonstrated visual design expertise; capacity for creating engaging and usable second to none designs and layouts with a propensity towards simplification.
+ Experience defining and maintaining design patterns and UI standards.
+ Comprehensive understanding of the current state of web technology and best practices.
+ Practical knowledge of user-centric design methodologies, usability principles, web-based information architecture and design.
+ Experience working on responsive or adaptive web experiences and email.
+ Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and analytical skills including the ability to communicate complex, interactive design concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization.

*Education/Training:*

+ Undergraduate degree required (preferably BFA or BA in related field), graduate degree in human centered design a plus.
+ Functional understanding of design, technology, programming languages and developmental requirements
+ Working knowledge of HTML/CSS/JavaScript (proficiency is a plus, but not required.)

Related Experience/Requirements:

Must possess 6 years of relevant experience in graphic design, with at least two years of project management. Prior experience with managing to a budget preferred.Previous experience working on robust digital applications, websites and experiences. Ecommerce, Saas, social media platforms, A/B testing, email and campaign

*Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:*

Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, After Effects, Sketch, Proto.io, InVision, Axure, etc.. Must possess a keen understanding of marketing principles and concepts, as well as the ability to develop project plans and budgets. Must possess a high degree of organization and creativity.Ideal candidates will be responsible for leading projects from concept through deployment, while keeping their thumb on the pulse of new digital trends and technologies.
