Manage day-to-day operations of fleet shop. Develop and maintain preventive maintenance programs. Ensure Fleet compliance with all regulatory agencies. Prepare and monitor capital and expense budget for facility and equipment.
+ Responsible for managing Fleet Workers, Mechanics, and Fuel Washer.
+ Determine schedules, sequences, and assignments for work activities, based on work priority, quantity of equipment and skill of personnel.
+ Monitor employee’s work levels and review work performance.
+ Monitor tool and part inventories and the condition and maintenance of shops to ensure adequate working conditions.
+ Compile operational and personnel records, such as time and production, inventory data, repair and maintenance records.
+ Counsel employees about work-related issues and assist employees to correct job-skill deficiencies.
+ Conduct or arrange for worker training in safety, repair, and maintenance techniques, operational procedures, or equipment use.
+ Inspect and monitor work areas, examine tools and equipment, and provide employee safety training to prevent, detect, and correct unsafe conditions or violations of procedures and safety rules.
+ Requisition materials and supplies, such as tools, equipment and replacement parts
+ Participate in budget preparation and administration, coordinating purchasing and documentation, and monitoring departmental expenditures.
+ Meet with vendors and suppliers to discuss products used in repair work.
+ Compute estimates and actual costs of factors such as materials, labor, and outside vendors.
+ Review, evaluate, accept, and coordinate completion of work bids from vendors.
+ Ensure all DOT, OSHA and EPA regulations are followed and proper documentation is completed.

High School graduate or equivalent required.
Associates Degree (business or technical) or Vo-Tech Graduate preferred
Experience in refrigerated fleet maintenance a plus.
Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule; work at the specific location required
Five plus years’ fleet equipment (tractor/refrigerated trailer) experience with a minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience required.
+ Preventive maintenance programs knowledge strongly desired.
+ Knowledge of tractor/trailer repair.
+ Good interpersonal skills, detail-oriented, ability to communicate effectively, negotiation, self-starter, and ability to prioritize and be “hands on”.
+ Must possess good knowledge of all aspects of fleet maintenance and transportation.
+ Experience in budgeting and financial reporting
+ Great people skills; able to work with people at all levels within the organization including outside vendors
+ Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel required. Familiarity with MS Access preferred.
+ Prior experience utilizing maintenance management systems (such as Shopfax) desired.
Standing, walking, driving, lifting up to 80 pounds, pushing & pulling, twisting, climbing, stooping/squatting, bending, reaching overhead, ability to work outdoors in varying temperatures and weather conditions.
