Qualcomm’s modem ASIC design teams deliver cutting edge digital hardware and software products across every established wireless standard/protocol, cellular, connectivity, etc and we are looking for new team members at all levels of experience from RCG to Principal engineer.

The role of a Modem ASIC Designer at Qualcomm is the micro-architectural specification, RTL design, functional verification and implementation of digital circuits and software for wireless applications.

You will be responsible for developing next generation digital ASICs in advanced ultra-fine CMOS process technologies for modem following technologies: , LTE, WCDMA, UMTS, WiFi and 5G.

You should have solid ASIC design and verification experience including architecture, micro architecture, RTL design and testplanning with expertise in some, or all, of the following areas:

+ Discrete-time Signal Processing and/or Digital Communications.

+ Modem or high-speed DSP datapaths: digital filters, FFTs, error-correction codes, etc.

+ On-chip buses, cross-bars, framers/deframers and data movers, etc.

+ Embedded Micro-controller subsystems.

+ Massively parallel processors, GPUs, etc.

+ Hands-on experience with VHDL/Verilog is required.

+ Knowledge of HVLs, OOP, Testbench Architectures, is desirable.

+ Experience with one or more of: System Verilog, SVA, Vera .

+ Experience with one or more of: OVM, VMM, RVM.

+ Scripting and automation skills: Unix/Linux shell programming, Perl, Java, Makefile, XML.

+ Working knowledge of Matlab, C/C++, or equivalent is highly desireable

+ Software design experience and knowledge of CPU and DSP architectures is desired.

**Education Requirements** Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering required, Master’s or Doctorate preferred.
