Software Engineering Manager (Site Reliability)

Our client, a local nonprofit organization focused on elevating education worldwide, is looking for a Software Engineering Manager for their Portland, OR location. In this position, you will partner with Product Development and Product Operations team, project managers, and other internal partners. A successful candidate will have an established background with strong technical ability, excellent management skills, great communication skills, and motivation to achieve results. This is a full-time role with competitive compensation and an outstanding benefits package.  Candidates may work remotely from a home office located anywhere in the United States.

 

Salary Range: $135,000 – $140,000/ year

Location: Portland, OR

Remote: Fully remote

Contract Duration: Direct Hire, Full Time

 

Key Responsibilities for Software Engineering Manager (Site Reliability):

  • Interact with vendors, other managers, engineers, internal clients (executives, stakeholders, department heads)
  • Responsible for interviewing, hiring, setting up career paths for direct reports, conducting performance reviews
  • Responsible for broader understanding of the product, strategy, and development
  • Responsible for running scrum
  • Will work and lead other teams across the organization
  • Will be overseeing multiple projects from a broader point of view

Requirements/Qualifications for Software Engineering Manager (Site Reliability):

  • Site Reliability Experience is of utmost importance
  • Extensive background in multi-tier technologies
  • Understands system level details, debugging, problem solving, trouble shooting
  • General knowledge of systems analysis
  • Backgrounds of Site Engineering, Operations Engineering, DevOps Engineer, Data Engineering would be highly preferred
  • Open to bringing on an engineering manager that supported scrum teams, has knowledge of performance engineering, and wants to expand their expertise
