Overview

This position will involve working with high fat diet induced obesity model and evaluate genotype-dependent effects on metabolic parameters to study gene regulation in obesity.
Duties and responsibilities:
(*) Will design experiments and prepares graphs of scientific data.
(*) Carry out a high fat diet induced obesity model and maintain mouse colonies and records.
(*) Perform metabolic testing (glucose and insulin tolerance tests and insulin signaling studies).
(*) Harvest, isolate and collect murine cells and tissues and establish primary cell cultures.
(*) Perform western blotting, qPCR and ELISAs and carry out gene regulation studies.
(*) Perform confocal microscopy, immunoprecipitation and density gradient studies, FACS analysis and cell sorting and perform other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required or assigned.
