**Job Overview** Qualcomm Research RF Systems team is in search of candidates to develop new radio architectures and algorithms for mobile communication systems (Advanced 4G, 5G and Beyond 5G) from concept to customer sampling. This job entails researching new modulation schemes, jammer and noise cancelling radio architectures, digital and analog predistortion techniques and algorithms, self-adaptation methods. The knowledge of RF blocks such as LNA, PA, mixer, PLL, BB filter, DAC/ADC and the ability to develop specifications for these blocks is a plus. A successful candidate will work closely with the RFIC and SW teams, perform system analyses using Matlab, Simulink, and other CAD tools, and lead lab integration of HW/SW/FW along with sustaining efforts for radios already in production. Candidate must be comfortable presenting to technical audiences and able to write technical reports.

**Minimum Qualifications** 1+ year of experience in the following:

+ Communication system modeling using MatLab or Simulink

+ Link budget analysis

+ Designing Tx predistortion algorithms and self-adapting systems to correct for radio imperfections

+ Experience developing specifications for RF blocks such as PA, LNA, mixer, PLL, BB filters, or DAC/ADC

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ Knowledge of communication theory, digital signal processing, RF-BB radio interface, and RF radio architectures

+ RF-system design concepts and application to commercial cellular transceiver.

+ Experience with applying digital signal processing techniques to mitigate RF impairments and (coexistence) interference induced by RF non-ideal components.

+ Experience with modeling, analyzing and deriving algorithm to combat non-linear effects, Tx self-jamming, feedback systems, linear algebra and statistics

+ Experience using Simulink

+ Experience leading lab integration of HW/SW/FW into communication systems

**Education Requirements** Required: Master’s, Computer Engineering and/or Electrical Engineering

Preferred: Doctorate, Computer Engineering and/or Electrical Engineering
