In this role you will be working on advanced front-end modules for cellular/wireless applications as part of the Qualcomm’s RF Front-End (RFFE) Department. You will play a significant role in designing, characterizing RFIC solutions for rapidly expanding markets in 4G and 5G, bringing competitive RFFE Module solutions and delivering commercial samples according agreed milestones with our customers.
The Qualcomm RFFE Team is seeking experienced RFFE IC Design, RFFE Characterization Engineers, and RFFE Bench test development engineers.
We are looking for motivated engineers who possess industry experience in some of the areas below:
**RFFE IC Design:**
+ Design and development of the next generation of highly integrated RFFE ICs such as RF switches, LNAs, couplers, tuners and controllers which are used in Front End Modules for cellular/wireless applications.
+ RF IC design experience with RF LNA, PA, Switches in GaAs and SOI technology both circuit and physical design and layout extraction/EMIn-depth understanding of RFIC/RF circuit design in CMOS at process nodes of 180nm and smaller, design tools and simulators (Cadence, ADS and similar tools), layout design, functional verification methodologies and characterizations
+ Experience with front-end RF block design used in RF-FEM (front end module) **RFFE Characterization Engineers:**
+ Demonstrated expertise in RF device tuning and characterization
+ Solid understanding of RF fundamentals such as Smith chart and impedance matching
+ Familiar with RF Front-End parameter such as NF, noise circles, IP2/IM2, IP3/IM3, Gain modes, S-parameters, as well as Tx path PAE, Gain, ACLR, power sweep, Rx Band Noise, harmonics, Spectrum Emission Mask, etc.
+ Proficient in use of RF test equipment such as network analyzer, loadpull systems, spectrum analyzer, signal generators, power meters, digitizing oscilloscopes, signal generators, DMMs, and programmable power supplies for characterization and tuning of design RF Front-End components
+ Familiar with Data Analysis Tools **RFFE Bench Test Development Engineer:**
+ Experience in RF test methodology development and implementation using LabVIEW, .NET or C#.
+ Good understanding of electronics engineering fundamentals, RF circuits and RF performance metrics (NF, Sensitivity, Intermodulation, Tx Power, ACLR, EVM, S-parameters)
+ Basic understanding of RF measurement methodology, Bench Test solution architecture, RF component evaluation and Device characterization
+ Hands-on knowledge of RF instrument operation: Signal Generators, Spectrum Analyzers, Power meters, Network Analyzers etc.
+ Experience in analyzing RF Transceiver/RF Front-End device datasheets, creating test plans and test execution
