**Job Overview**

QCT Software Automation and Tools (QSWAT) group is looking for a software architect to assist and guide our full-time engineers in architecting, designing, and developing cutting edge applications. The QSWAT team develops tools that are used by majority of QCT’s development and test organizations to support the development and delivery of Qualcomms software. Our application portfolio consists of several large custom web applications and services that work together as part of an integrated toolchain. Our technology stack is primarily Microsoft .NET based (ASP.NET MVC using C# and SQL Server) but we also have back end applications and scripts in Python and PHP. Candidates will be working with 7+ globally distributed Scrum teams and be responsible for architecture, design, development and quality. The ideal candidate will have 12+ years of overall development experience with 6+ years of architectural/design/development work on the Microsoft stack and .NET framework.

**Responsibilities:**

+ Participating in setting architectural strategy, roadmap, standards, policies, and procedures

+ Evaluation, identification, and breakdown of high level feature requests across multiple distributed systems into proposed architecture

+ Interaction with other software engineers and technical leaders to understand subsystem and component specifications and recommend changes to facilitate efficient and effective development

+ Review design and code of existing systems to determine potential issues and provide suitable recommendations to improve code quality

+ Evaluation of new technology and technology upgrades

+ Build vs buy evaluations and decisions

+ Acting as a technical mentor and resource for developers

+ Facilitating cross-team technical communication

+ Developing reusable libraries for use across our various applications

+ Developing reference architectures and proving out architectural patterns/decisions in working prototypes

+ Embedding inside Scrum teams to help with key architectural refactoring and increasing quality

+ Working closely with the DevOps function to establish leading DevOps practices

+ Participating in the formation of the architecture function with a small team

**Minimum Qualifications** **12+ years of industry experience in the following:**

+ 5 years of C#/.NET framework Developer and/or Architect in enterprise application software (experience in full stack web development)

+ Experience with various architectural styles including: DDD, CQRS, microservices and/or SOA

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ Technical design patterns, OOP, REST/SOAP interfaces (WCF and/or WebAPI), data modeling

+ Experience working with SQL Server 2012/2014/2016 or related databases including working with ORMs such as Entity Framework and/or Dapper

+ ASP.NET MVC

+ Scripting languages such as Python/Perl

+ Web client side technologies such as Typescript/Javascript, MVC frameworks, CSS etc.

+ SCRUM/SAFe development methodology

+ Familiarity with loosely coupled architectural concepts using message queues, async processing, etc

+ Experience with writing cross-platform .NET using .NET Core/.NET Standard

+ Cloud architecture (AWS/Azure/OpenStack) experience

+ Good unit testing, functional testing, and performance testing practices

+ Experience with PHP

+ Experience working with distributed technologies (Web services, SOAP, REST, WebAPI, microservices, etc.,)

+ Strong advocate of DevOps methodologies and experience with test and continuous deployment

+ Ability to communicate clearly, organize effectively and document work thoroughly

+ Ability to multitask and flexibility to adjust to changing priorities

+ Self-motivated and able to work independently

+ Strong communication and consensus building ability
