The role and responsibilities of the chipset product manager include the following:
+ Define chipset products for QCOM value tier roadmap
+ Support/guide finance/sales on setting pricing strategy for product aligned with overall QCT portfolio and strategic plan
+ Guide engineering execution through factual priority setting (participation in key core team meetings)
+ Clearly communicate benefits of product and why we win over competition to different levels up to executives both internally and externally
+ Actively manage any product issues in the market
+ Provide clear product collateral aligned with various technology teams, provides training to field teams to minimize travel requirement
+ Tune product positioning, performance as well as feature set to ensure product remains competitive at any given time over lifetime of product.
+ Work with operations to aggressively drive cost down
+ Manage/minimize required SKU (device variants)
+ Manage transitions of device variants (e.g. shrink, cost reduction) with operations, field, finance, technology teams and engineering teams
+ Identify opportunities to market fall-out in adjacent markets
+ Decision of this individual has direct impact to QCT P&LChipset responsibilities:
+ Close interaction with field (sales/TAM/local product managers), finance, business development (operator facing team), system engineering, technology teams (HLOS, multi-media, GPS, RF, PMIC, etc.) and competitive analysis team to ensure proper product definition, positioning, messaging and lifecycle management.Successful candidate will possess the following characteristics:
+ Effective communication skills to different organization levels both internal as well as external; able to adopt communication style to various cultural backgrounds
+ Motivated by challenges with good problem solving skills; good conflict resolution skills
+ Decision making based on facts; consults with key team members during decision making process
+ Able to set challenging goals and drive teams to over achieve
+ Proven track record managing trade-off between performance, features and product cost.

+ Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Humanities, or related field.
+ 4+ years Product Management or related work experience.
+ MBA7+ years in the following areas required:
+ Product Management for Application Processors within high-end market segment
+ Managing small product management teams as well as leading cross-functional matrix organization of highly technical individuals.
+ Wireless semiconductor industry experience
Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s Preferred.
