**Job Overview** Were looking for a few good Architects!

Qualcomm’s Chip Architecture multi-site team of hardware and software architects and systems engineers are driving analysis and defining next-generation architectures for our system-on-chip (SoC) products for the smartphone, tablet, and other product categories. We have an exciting and dynamic technical position available with a focus on SoC architecture analysis for performance, power, and thermals.

The successful candidate will engage collaboratively across the company with core HW design & verification, SW, marketing, and product planning teams, to:

+ Architect market-leading mobile SoC products with best-in-class performance and power;

+ Conduct hands-on performance, power, and/or thermal studies to help define our SoC architecture plans;

+ Collaborate with HW and SW teams to define best-in-class multimedia, modem, compute and memory technologies;

+ Empower customers with a new class of powerful emerging workloads like augmented reality, plenoptics, realistic gaming physics, 3D, gesture tracking, etc.

+ Deploy simulators, profilers, or even real hardware to provide quantitative justification for architectural directions;

+ Directly apply computer architecture knowledge of CPUs, GPUs, DSPs, cache coherency, virtual memory, etc.;

+ Effectively communicate experimental results, review with technical leads and peers, analyze outstanding issues;

+ Creatively overcome obstacles to obtain the answers to architectural questions;

+ Invent and file patents on technical solutions to relevant problems;

**Minimum Qualifications** **5+ years industry experience required in one or more of the following areas:**

+ Experience with computer architecture concepts, such as , CPU, GPU, DSP, interconnects, shared memory, etc.

+ 3+ years experience in system or chipset development for SoC products, preferably in the mobile market

+ Experience with OS principles and HW/SW interaction

+ Experience with SoC bus, interconnect and memory technologies

+ Hands-on experience in using and modifying simulators and performance/power models, especially full-system models

+ Experience in using code and/or system profiling tools

+ Experience in C/C++/SystemC programming

+ Experience in VLSI design and verification

+ Pragmatic scripting & automation skills

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ PHD Degree preferred

+ Familiarity with any of the following is highly valued: ARM, Linux, GPGPU, OpenCL, OpenGL, Java, Dalvik, RenderScript, Windows SW stack, C++ AMP

+ Familiarity with multimedia or communication technologies including: video codec, camera, WLAN, LTE, audio codec

+ Excellent communication and presentation skills

**Education Requirements** Required: Master’s, Computer Engineering and/or Computer Science and/or Electrical Engineering

Preferred: Doctorate, Computer Engineering and/or Computer Science and/or Electrical Engineering
