Looking for an experienced and versatile system engineer who is passionate about working with new technologies and pushing the boundaries of mobile technologies. Successful candidate needs to be able to collaborate with various functional teams from different organizations within Qualcomm and also with ecosystem partners outside of Qualcomm to identify and analyze important technical innovations and trends in areas including 5G, automotive, machine learning, multimedia, computer vision, mobile edge computing, security, and user interface. A successful candidate needs to have a strong and broad technical background and is motivated to innovate and learn new technology areas. A candidate will work with core team to develop and manage technology roadmap and collaborate with colleagues from QTL and other divisions to strengthen QTL IP portfolio and licensing business.

Minimum Qualifications

+ Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.

+ 8+ years Systems Engineering or related work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

+ Ph.D. or M.S. in EE/CS plus 15 years of professional experience, or equivalent mix of education and experience, in wireless communications, machine learning, multimedia, computer vision, IoT, and autonomous driving with hands-on product design and development experience.

+ A strong background in wireless communication systems and wireless radio technology principles is preferred.

+ Solid understanding of 5G NR and the architectural concepts of a 5G network is a plus.

+ Experience with computer vision and machine learning/deep learning.

+ Proficient in Python, C/C++, and working knowledge of deep learning frameworks like TensorFlow, TesnorFlow Lite, Caffe, PyTorch, and SNPE is a plus.

+ Critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills.

+ Strong analytical skills with interest and ability to quickly learn new concepts in different technologies.

+ Ability to conduct investigative research with minimum supervision.

+ Self-motivation and perseverance.

+ Ability to communicate effectively with non-experts in the field.

+ Flexibility to make quick adjustment in a fast-changing environment.

Required: Master’s, Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering/Computer Science

Preferred: Doctorate, Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering/Computer Science
