This role involves all aspects of 3rd party IP selection, enhancement, and validation for Qualcomm. It will also include development of methodology for QA and maintenance of 3rd party foundation IP (standard cell libraries, memory compilers, and I/O) databases.

**Responsibilities**

+ Will develop systematic methodology for Third Party IP evaluation to align with Qualcomm PPA and design/PD flow requirements.

+ Will have extensive interaction with 3rd party IP vendors and internal Qualcomm users to support customization of IP to meet Qualcomm requirements across multiple technologies and PDCAD flows.

+ Will lead and implement internal enhancements to 3rd party IP databases including generation of supplementary circuits to improve utilization.

+ Will direct enhancements for standard IPQA flow of 3rd party databases that will include:

+ Modification of vendor views to adhere to Qualcomm custom analog & digital flow requirements.

+ Generation of additional IP views not available from vendors but required by the Qualcomm tool flow

+ Automation/customization of an IPQA flow based on standard QC owned tools.

Minimum Qualifications

+ Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, or related field.

+ 7+ years ASIC design, verification, or related work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

+ Candidate must have received vigorous training in mixed signal design, low power CMOS logic circuit and VLSI design

+ Experience in design of high performance logic circuits such as clock buffers and specialty flops

+ Extensive experience with third party vendor IP database structures, components, and qualification flows.

+ Experience in design of the custom digital circuit

+ Familiarity with advanced low power techniques and tools such as UPF, CLP, power aware implementation is desired.

+ Experience in qualification of standard cell libraries and memory compilers

+ Knowledge of both digital and analog design flows

+ Expert knowledge of IP view generation and validation:

+ LEF generation

+ Cadence schematic capture and Virtuoso layout

+ Mentor Caliber for DRC/LVS and LPE extraction and debug

+ Verilog and behavioral model verification and debug

+ SPICE/Finesim simulation and characterization of standard cell library components

+ Knowledge of standard cell architecture and layout in advanced technologies.

+ Understanding of P&R flow and requirements for standard cell libraries

+ Familiarity with complex stdcell and macrocell design.

+ Experience in scripting in Perl and/or TCL.

+ Knowledge of SKILL coding.
