Coop opportunities exist for positions in the QCT Global SOC group. This group is responsible for the design and development of Qualcomm’s 5G baseband wireless modem ASICs, Snapdragon integrated mobile processors that targets mobile, compute, and autonomous driving markets, wide range of application processors for IoT market, and cloud AI based datacenter processors. Tasks include digital logic design, test bench development, evaluating design-for-test strategies, profiling silicon performance and power, in addition to developing automation scripts using Python, Perl, and shell scripting.Position available: one each in the following functional team within Global SOC group- SOC Integration- SOC Verification- Design-for-Test- Global CAD2.) Product and Test Engineering CoopThe Product and Test team is responsible for developing Qualcomm leading-edge Snapdragon Products in advanced silicon technology. Project will include hand on experience with VLSI silicon testing and debug, silicon data diagnostic and analysis, generate report as well as exploring report automation tools. There is opportunity to rotate within various groups in Product and Test department to expedience different functional group operation.3.) Modem firmware team develops real-time physical layer control and signal processing software for mobile chipsets. This often requires a high degree of code performance to meet tight timelines. Specific intern projects are tailored to candidate skills/interests, and may include any of the following: – Implementation of air interface (usually LTE or 5G) protocol modules – Refactoring of code to meet critical timelines, at the algorithmic and implementation level – Assembly programming on a proprietary DSP processor (Hexagon) – Development of software test frameworks, including implementation of simulation models4.) The intern will perform pre-silicon validation of the DFS/SS features for the next generation mobile device. DFS involves detection of radar devices operating in band while SS involves scanning of other nearby channels for energy in the spectrum.5.) The overall responsibility is to evaluate the WLAN Access Points for different features under varying environments. Validate End user scenarios for Enterprise/Retail/Carrier customers. Will have hands on experience in working on Wi-Fi 6, 6Ghz and 5G backhaul for Access points. Will be involved in development and deployment of automation scripts for multiple advance feature evaluation like OFDMA, MU-MIMO and TWT. Work with multiple 3rd party traffic simulators and network congestion tools.6.) Bluetooth Firmware Development

Education Requirements

In study towards a Bachelor’s or MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science
