**Job Description:**

**Basic Purpose-**

The primary purpose of this position is to supervise the administration of daily outbound shipments to customers and other distribution centers within the organization. Must ensure a safe and secure working environment and operate in a profitable manner.

**Description-**

The Transportation RoadSupervisor will direct and supervise the work and productivity of DeliveryDrivers.

This position may dispatch out at 4am,5am or 6am and drive companyvan to meet up with drivers in field and may at times be required to drive aCommercial Vehicle.

This role will conduct inspections and coach, counsel drivers andensures all delivery driversare appropriately trained in job duties as well as safety and legalresponsibilities under DOT, FMCSA and company policies.

Anticipates, analyzesand troubleshoots problems with deliveries and devises cost-effective and legalsolutions; and acts to implement same.

Schedules drivers forroutes based on division devised methodology.

Conducts routine Safetyand Driver Meetings.

Create an atmosphere inwhich upward communication is encouraged and motivate associates to achievedepartment goals and objectives

Ensure maintenance ofdriver qualification files.

Investigates allaccidents, maintains an accident file, tracks causes and takes appropriatepreventative action.

**Qualifications-**

*Education/Training:* High School Diploma or equivalent required, PossessCommercial Driver’s License (CDL) preferred.

*Related Experience:* A minimum of four years transportation/deliveryexperience required.

*Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:* Ability to openly and effectively communicate with allassociates. Must be able to use, or learn to use, all equipment, globalpositioning systems (GPS) i.e. XATA, and tools used to perform the job. Must be able to perform all job functions safely. Must be able to workthe scheduled/assigned times and required overtime for the position. Mustknow/have ability to learn MSDS information regarding all material used withinthe scope of the work. Understand and interpret DOT and other state and federalregulations.
