The Copywriter is a natural storyteller, well-versed in brand writing, beauty, lifestyle and culture. You have experience working in beauty or fashion, and have an intimate knowledge of how to flex tone to reach the consumer at various touchpoints in the customer journey.


You are familiar working in an omnichannel environment, crafting copy at campaign levels down to evergreen tactics across store, print, direct mail, social, email and digital. You have a special knack for packaging a story and pitching different angles against an editorial calendar. This strategic thinking informs your writing, which you know how to flex depending on navigational, promotional, or campaign copy.


You’ll partner with teams across marketing, merchandising, creative operations, visual creative, and ecommerce to champion our brand voice. A big part of your focus will be in email and digital content, writing against evergreen support and strategic initiatives such as Ulta Beauty at Target, Sparked at Ulta Beauty™,Conscious Beauty at Ulta Beauty™ and more.




Pitch and write content under the guidance of the Editorial Manager and Lead Copywriter
Be the key contributor for copy and brand voice in email and digital promotions
Assist the Editorial Manager in oversight of copy from external partners
Contribute to the editorial style guide
Write to other deliverables across channels as assigned


BA in Journalism, English, Communications, or a related field
Min 3 years copywriting experience in retail and/or editorial
Ability to work well under pressure, be flexible and meet deadlines
Demonstrated ability to synthesize strategic messages into consumer-friendly copy
Ability to receive and respond to feedback in order to pivot when necessary
Previous experience in retail signage a plus
Spanish-speaking fluency a plus
