Qualcomm Video Hardware and Systems group provides video and vision IP solutions for all of Qualcomms Snapdragon processors including mobile, automotive and XR. The teams scope includes algorithm and architecture design for video analytics, computer vision and machine learning with power and performance optimization.
We are looking for multiple engineers in front end digital design / design verification and firmware/systems development using computer vision.
**As ASIC eng. you will :**
+ Micro architecture design and implementation of video decode/encode processing blocks using Verilog HDL.
+ Use of various design tools (Linting, CDC, LEC, Fishtail, CLP etc.) to check and improve design quality
+ Implementation of Low power logic, targeting power, performance, area, and timing goals.
+ Work on Linting, CDC, LEC and preferably Low Power check tools to implement design and check design quality
+ Work with Design Verification team on top-level or block level functional/gate level verification and code coverage, including power aware debug. **As Computer Vision – Video Systems eng.:** The selected candidate, along with his/her colleagues and other team members, will have responsibilities in one or more of the following areas:
+ Research and develop computer vision algorithms for mobile, automotive and XR applications with performance and power efficiency
+ Define systems architecture for computer vision solutions including data flow, task partition, interface and systems interoperation.
+ Design and implement C/C++ simulator for computer vision functions. The simulator will be used for algorithms development, verification, and quality evaluation.
+ Work on DSP or GPU optimization of computer vision algorithms
+ Define methodology for performance and power analysis and develop innovative technologies to reduce memory bandwidth, processing latency, power consumption.Minimum Qualifications:
+ Min. 2 years of design experiences of Digital Video compression/decompression HW.Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, or related field.Preferred Qualifications: 4+ years experience in HW architecture/design with emphasis on areas listed:
+ Proven experience in conducting architectural trade-offs, power/performance analysis and/or SW-HW trade-offs
+ Knowledge of graphics pipeline, computer vision pipelines, machine learning methods and/or camera pipelines
+ Experience with system level modeling (performance and/or power)
+ Outstanding problem-solving skills
+ Outstanding communication skills
+ C/C++ and/or Python
+ Strong analytical and mathematical skills to develop new computer vision algorithms
+ DSP/Neon/GPU optimization and multi-thread programming
+ Experience in motion analysis, object detection/tracking and pattern recognition
Required: Bachelor’s, Computer Engineering and/or Computer Science and/or Electrical Engineering Preferred: Master’s, Computer Engineering and/or Computer Science and/or Electrical Engineering
