GENERAL SUMMARY

Qualcomm Technologies Inc. is focused on inventing technologies that connect and empower people in ways that are elegant and accessible to all. QTI is actively seeking a PCB/ Hardware design candidate with a strong background in Signal/ Power Integrity to join the QCT Product & Test engineering (PTE) team. In this role, the engineer is responsible for collaborating with multiple global engineering teams to ensure the overall design of hardware in support of product characterization and test of semiconductor devices.5G speeds and latency, CPU and graphics features, audio and security mean nothing if your battery is dead. The Power Management Integrated Circuits (PMIC) in your phone dynamically powers only what is needed and enables lightning-fast charging. Reacting to the explosion of new features, the PMIC Bench Test Development team is expanding. This team is responsible for developing Qualcomm’s leading edge PMIC products including LDOs, bucks, lighting, Haptic, USB & Charging. In this role you will own the below responsibilities:Job responsibilities include:• Mixed-signal or analog PCB design including CAD interface• Test board design, debug, and development with an emphasis in power and clock distribution• FPGA development using VHDL (eg Altera and Xilinx)• Creation and presentation of detailed PMIC product test plans• Creation/modification/debug of LabVIEW™ tests to satisfy test requirements.• Create schematics & drive layout of PMIC product specific test boards.• Work closely with cross functional team including Mechanical, CAD, Component Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, Power and Signal Integrity Analysis and PTE.• Design and debug of test interface hardware, schematic capture, oversee layout, and release test hardware into characterization labs and/or high-volume production.• Conduct and document design reviews to meet strict product development schedules.Preferred Qualifications• Understanding and ability to apply electrical engineering concepts and circuit solving skills.• Able to work with common test equipment (oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, logic analyzer, network analyzer, etc.), ATE test platforms (Teradyne UFLEX, Advantest 93K, Cohu, NI) and handlers/probers.• Knowledge in RF/ RFFE with preference in mmWave, mixed-signal, or analog PCB design including CAD interface• Experience in high layer count multilayer boards and sockets/connectors and Component selection preferred.• Specific experience in designing boards for ATE testers a plus.• SI/PI Measurement to simulation correlation experience is plus.• Capable of understanding and modifying LabVIEW test software• Familiarity with digital and analog regulators, crystal oscillators, clock distribution, linear and switching chargers, PLLs/clock recovery design• Working knowledge of power management and general communication measurements (ie load transient, line/load regulation, PSRR, transition time, amplifier efficiency, jitter, phase noise, etc)• Able to work with common test equipment (oscilloscope, source meter, spectrum analyzer, time interval analyzer, logic analyzer, etc)• Knowledge in standard communication protocols (eg JTAG, I2C, and SPI)• Understanding of electrical engineering concepts and circuit solving skills• Ability to communicate clearly, organize effectively and document work thoroughly• Ability to use standard test equipment to evaluate & debug Test interface Hardware & Software.• The individual selected for the position needs to be proactive, able to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment, enthusiastic to work at times as an individual contributor and be passionate about delivering quality work.• Experience with Signal/ Power integrity 2.5D/3D EDA tools (Cadence Sigrity, Ansys 3D, ADS). Physical Requirements

• Frequently transports between offices, buildings, and campuses up to ½ mile.

• Frequently transports and installs equipment up to 5 lbs.

• Continuous communication which includes the comprehension of information with colleagues, customers, and vendors both in person and remotely.
