Will consider Transportation Planner

Under direction of the PID Workload Management Branch Chief, a Senior Transportation Planner, the incumbent performs journey-level staff assignments of moderate to high complexity within the Office of Project Initiation (OPI). Serving as a liaison to Caltrans district offices, the incumbent provides guidance and customer service to district PID staff, supporting K Phase charging approval, and coordinates with assigned districts to collect, verify, and comprehensively analyze PID workload and expenditure data for reporting, budgeting, and program planning. The incumbent leads efforts to develop and implement tools, guidance, and procedures to support PID workload management and reporting functions. Acting as a district liaison, the incumbent provides technical support, reviews and approves project resource requests, and helps manage both current and future statewide PID workload data. The position also supports internal and external reporting requirements and recommends strategies to improve data quality, streamline processes, and address programmatic issues. The incumbent may be assigned to assist with other Transportation Planning initiatives of moderate to high complexity that are adjacent to and support the objectives of the PID Program. Excellent proficiency in spreadsheet applications and experience with relational database applications, concepts, and data analysis is highly desirable.
