Under the administrative direction of the Office Chief, Office of Transportation Planning, the incumbent leads policy initiatives and oversees System Planning efforts. Serving as a technical expert, the incumbent performs the most difficult and complex work critical to the Department’s core mission. Acting as a departmental representative, the incumbent will lead the development of the Coast Highway Management Plan. The incumbent is the principal responsible for strategic planning and performance management for the Big Sur Coast and will engage in high level discussions with internal and external partners, engage in management review, and develop alternatives for addressing a wide array of policy, planning, and administrative activities in Big Sur Coast.

For those who do not have current eligibility (e.g. transfer, permissive reinstatement or voluntary demotions) and/or who will be new to state civil services employment, you must be on the state examination list to be eligible for these positions.
