Scope of Work:

The primary purpose of the Bus Driver position is to support daily vehicle operations across a secure government-contracted facility. This position is responsible for safely operating GSA-leased vehicles, performing scheduled transportation tasks such as courier services, shuttle operations, and warehouse deliveries, while ensuring compliance with federal vehicle use policies and site protocols.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate a variety of GSA-leased vehicles to perform transportation tasks, including campus shuttle routes, document/package delivery, and warehouse transfers.
  • Complete and maintain accurate trip tickets and other required documentation for each vehicle use.
  • Follow all federal and site-specific rules regarding vehicle safety, key control, fueling, and vehicle operation.
  • Ensure proper fueling procedures using WEX fuel cards and maintain accurate fuel usage logs.
  • Perform pre- and post-trip inspections to identify and report any safety or maintenance issues.
  • Adhere to daily vehicle schedules, assigned routes, and delivery deadlines while maintaining professional conduct.
  • Assist with tracking vehicle keys and reporting any discrepancies or concerns immediately to the Transportation Supervisor.
  • Support vehicle cleanliness and basic upkeep; coordinate with the maintenance team to ensure vehicles remain in safe, operable condition.
  • Respond promptly to direction from supervisors and maintain clear communication with team members and site staff.
    Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of one (1) year of professional driving or bus operating experience.
  • Possess a Class A or Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
  • Experience operating passenger vans, box trucks, or similar commercial vehicles.
  • Working knowledge of vehicle inspection procedures and safe driving practices.
  • Must be able to support shifts between 5:00 AM and 6:00 PM as required.
  • Basic computer or mobile device skills to accurately complete trip logs and reporting.
  • Ability to obtain an interim Secret Clearance prior to start.
  • Possess a valid state driver’s license and a safe driving record to operate vehicles or equipment as required for the position.
  • All candidates must successfully complete pre-employment screening including a comprehensive background check, motor vehicle record review, and a 5-panel drug test.

Physical Demands / Work Environment:

Duties require frequent periods of sitting, standing, kneeling, walking, crouching, crawling, reaching, and balancing.
Ability to physically fit to bend, stoop, and lift in awkward positions and able to lift up to 60 lbs.
Knowledge of worksite safety, occupational hazards, and standard safety practices.
