Overview
The Maintenance Worker will be responsible for the general maintenance of two facilities on Mesa Grande reservation land known as the Golden Eagle Farm. The facilities include the Golden Eagle office bulding, which contains administrative offices, a retail farm store, food storage and processing areas; and the adjacent Mabee House, a 4-bedroom/2.5 bath vacation rental home that also serves as a venue for small meetings and conferences.
The Maintenance Worker is responsible for performing general maintenance, repairs, grounds keeping, and custodial support to ensure that buildings, facilities, equipment, and surrounding grounds are maintained in a safe, clean, functional, and professional condition. The position performs routine cleaning, preventative maintenance, minor repairs, and other maintenance duties as assigned.
The Maintenance Worker supports the efficient operation of organizational facilities and helps ensure that properties are clean, safe, accessible, and ready for daily use, meetings, community events, and other activities.
Since the Golden Eagle Farm is a California Certified Organic Farm (CCOF) under USDA standards, all work performed must follow organic handling and stewardship standards, including the use of non-chemical, organic-compliant cleaning supplies and pest /rodent control methods.
About Mesa Grande Business Development Corporation
The MGBDC is responsible for business and economic development activities on behalf of the Mesa Grande Band of Mission Indians. It is headquartered at the 560-acre Golden Eagle Farm, which became Mesa Grande trust land in February 2025. The farm is currently home to a 16-acre organic/regenerative produce garden and associated retail farm store; two vacation rental homes that also serve as small meeting venues; and outdoor event space for day/short-term rental.
The Tourism Services Coordinator position is funded by a two-year grant from the Office of Indian Economic Development (OIED) under the Tribal Tourism Grant Program. The position is intended to support implementation of a professional designed marketing program to enhance the Golden Eagle's visibility, increase visitor traffic and help generate additional revenue for MGBDC operations.
