About Alliance for Tribal Clean Energy

Who We Are 

The Alliance for Tribal Clean Energy is an Indigenous-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to supporting the self-determined and just transition of Native American Tribes to a clean energy future. Our mission is to advance energy sovereignty as a pathway to economic security, climate resilience, and the protection of Mother Earth for future generations.

We are 100% philanthropically funded, allowing us to offer Tribes the highest level of clean energy development expertise-at no cost.

What We Do 

The Alliance delivers wrap-around technical, financial, policy, and capacity-building expertise, grounded in Indigenous cultural values, to ensure that clean energy systems are Tribal-led, culturally aligned, and built for lasting success.

We work exclusively for and with Tribes, upholding sovereignty and self-determination in every engagement. We offer no-cost services and resources to Tribes through six pillars of support.

Our Approach 

We believe a truly just energy transition must be led by Tribes and Tribal members-by Native people, for Native people-whenever possible. Our work is built on trust, cultural respect, and the unwavering principle that energy sovereignty is foundational to Tribal sovereignty.
