Old Town San Diego State Historic Park seeks to hire a seamstress/tailor for our growing
period attire program. Looking for a reliable, ambitious, and creative individual to sew
nineteenth century reproduction clothing based on modern clothing patterns and to assist
the period attire program lead at Old Town San Diego State Historic Park.

Part Time: 24-30 hours per week

Pay: $15.68-17.95 per hour

 Moderate skills in hand sewing and conducting fittings.
 Knowledge on how to use a modern sewing machine and a variety of stitches
 Knowledge of nineteenth century men’s and women’s fashion
 The ability to make alterations to an existing historic pattern and clothing
 Assist with the development of a period attire vendor list
 Good communication skills with clients
 Willingness to learn historic techniques for sewing garments
 Provide general administrative support in the form of research and record keeping
for period reproduction garments.
 At the time of your interview, please be prepared to bring in a portfolio of work.
