Overview

Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Academic Program Manager performs a wide variety of college activities in alignment with the College’s mission, values and strategic initiatives. This position will plan, develop and implement effective and efficient communication approaches which meet the academic, professional, technical and cultural needs of California Tribal communities. The position is responsible for student recruitment and serves as an academic advisor to students and is responsible for assisting students with techniques, technology and equipment required for distance learning.

TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Implements Memorandum of Agreement(s) (MOA) between the CA Tribal College and its educational partners

2. Assists with the recruitment of faculty

3. Utilizes and develops distance education technology, equipment, etc.

4. Assists with student admissions, enrollment, financial aid and other college programs and services

5. Assist with course development that are consistent with degree requirements, continuing education credits, and workforce development training

6. Manages multiple program budgets

7. Provide administrative and technical assistance to college faculty and staff

8. Develops and maintains student and program databases

9. Responsible for management of equipment and supplies for college academic programs

10. Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field; and two years of experience working in a college or vocational setting or two years of experience working with Native Americans in a college, vocational setting or tribal education setting

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of the American Indian Higher Education Consortium, knowledge of accreditation standards for post-secondary institutions, knowledge of California tribal cultures and governance
