We’re developing a dedicated role for a Senior Engagement Manager within our marketing team to tailor new projects and initiatives to support tribal and indigenous communities that are stepping up to help connect their communities with broadband.
Our goal is to add a segment expert who has expertise working with tribal governments and can serve as an internal advisor on how best to support tribal and indigenous communities in their broadband journeys. The Senior Engagement Manager will also help raise awareness of our brand among tribal and indigenous communities through content creation (for example, amplifying the success stories of Calix’s existing Tribal & Indigenous customers), relationship-building with key partners, and attending relevant events and tradeshows throughout the U.S. Your understanding of this customer and the relationships you build will help influence future products and services that Calix offers to better serve tribal and indigenous customers and prospective customers. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of tribal and indigenous communities either from having worked for one directly or having worked very closely with them as a partner or vendor.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Be the go-to expert within Calix on Tribal and Indigenous Communities.
Provide recommendations internally on which messages resonate best with tribal and indigenous communities based on true understanding of the intended audience and their unique needs; ensure that Calix’s presence/voice in these communities is always respectful, supportive, and authentic.
Inform future products and services catering to Tribal & Indigenous Communities based on your understanding of trends, external forces, and community’s current and future needs.
Grow Calix’s thought leadership within tribal and indigenous communities by attending relevant industry events and tradeshows and giving presentations in person and virtually.
Cultivate, manage, and deepen relationships with key Calix partners supporting tribal and indigenous communities by collaborating on joint events and educational opportunities.
Provide recommendations on maximizing Calix’s print and digital presence among tribal and indigenous communities deploying broadband.
Help educate Calix sales teams on unique nuances of working with tribal and indigenous communities and give them the knowledge to be trustworthy and effective partners to those communities.
Technical aptitude – Engage in technical conversations and presentations with customers/prospects/partners assuring your audience understands Calix solutions and the value they create for their business.
This role may be required to travel and attend face-to-face meetings and Calix sponsored events.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience working for or adjacent to tribal or indigenous communities deploying broadband networks.
Natural bridge-builder that can help navigate through complex systems by forming relationships and solving problems.
Technical aptitude/interest with a business development skillset; is comfortable talking tech but can also come out of the details and talk about why it matters to a community.
Demonstrated excellence and professionalism in communication with comfort presenting both on stage and virtually.
Ability to work autonomously and independently, while also collaborating cross-functionally across the organization.
Track record of successfully driving cross-functional projects to completion with minimal oversight.
Good balance of attention to detail and strategic, “big picture” thinking.
Creative thinker and problem-solver.
Proficiency in MS Office.
Willingness to travel domestically to industry events and tradeshows at least 10%.
Experience working for a Tribally owned and operated Broadband Service Provider.
Remote-based position located in the United States or Canada.
