Job Description and Duties
Under the general guidance of a Senior Transportation Engineer, Caltrans and a Supervising Transportation Engineer, Caltrans, the Transportation Engineer (Civil) is an interdisciplinary team member who performs duties related to the planning and managing complex multi-modal projects. These duties include developing, organizing, and directing activities that lead to the successful delivery of transportation improvements that meet local, regional, and state objectives, as well as cost and schedule constraints. The incumbent is required to implement project management principles, transportation planning, internal and external stakeholder engagement, project programming, and budgeting and works collaboratively with the project development team to guide projects through the project development process.
