Under the general direction of the Office Chief of Subvention Management, a Staff Services Manager II, the Staff Services Manager I (Specialist) ensures state assets are safeguarded, while providing stewardship and advocacy on behalf of Caltrans’ local partners. In order to meet these goals, the incumbent is responsible for developing, implementing, monitoring, and reporting on the local assistance state and federal “lump sum” subventions, Rail and Transit project budgets, State Transportation Improvement Program (STIP), state bond, General Fund and Active Transportation Program (ATP) budgets and the biennial STIP Fund Estimate. The Staff Services Manager I (Specialist) develops and enforces Division of Local Assistance (DLA) policies and makes recommendations that will impact project delivery, ongoing projects, and future funding.
