Will consider Transportation Planner
Under direction of a Senior Transportation Planner, the Associate Transportation Planner performs complex and responsible transportation planning work supporting implementation of Senate Bill 695 (Transportation Climate Resiliency: Projects of Statewide and Regional Significance) and statewide port and maritime transportation planning. The incumbent researches, analyzes, and evaluates transportation projects, policies, data, and statutory requirements; develops recommendations, reports, guidance, and analytical tools; and coordinates with Caltrans Headquarters and Districts, the California Transportation Commission, CalSTA, regional agencies, federal partners, tribal governments, local jurisdictions, and California ports. The incumbent supports the Department’s Port Liaison function by building relationships with port authorities and port security partners, conducting research using the Maritime Domain Awareness Tool and related resources, supporting multimodal and freight planning, assisting with policy development for port ingress and egress, and participating in the Readiness and Resiliency Workgroup.
