GENERAL SUMMARY

Qualcomm is the largest fabless design company in the world, providing hardware, software and related services to nearly every mobile device maker and operator in the global wireless marketplace. Qualcomm’s cutting edge mobile SoCs rely on a variety of high quality foundational and customized IPs to maintain their competitive advantage.

This position involves designing and implementing high speed digital circuits, including but not limited to high speed latch arrays, memories, sequential cells and other highly customized implementations on a need basis. Schematic entry, simulation of major blocks, layout planning, layout supervision and interface with CAD/SoC team for full verification and model generation.

The ideal candidate would possess the following qualifications:

+ Master’s degree in Science, Engineering or related field

+ 2+ years of professional or academic experience designing transistor level circuits for SoC applications

+ Strong background and direct experience in CMOS transistor level circuit design

+ Deep understanding of device physics, electrical/reliability behaviors in both advanced bulk and FinFET technologies, scaling limitations, etc. Familiarity with basic semiconductor manufacturing processes.

+ Familiarity with variation-aware design in nano-meter technology nodes. Understanding of statistical concepts/methodologies.

+ Physical implementation (layout) and layout supervision.

+ Familiarity with ASIC frontend/backend integration flows, IP delivery collaterals including behavior model, upf lib, LEF view, etc.

+ Silicon Tape Out and debug experience, noise-aware design experience are plus

+ Automation (perl or python) semi-custom or custom design experience with typical PnR tools etc. will be a significant plus

Physical Requirements

• Frequently transports between offices, buildings, and campuses up to ½ mile.

• Frequently transports and installs equipment up to 5 lbs.

• Performs required tasks at various heights (e.g., standing or sitting).

• Monitors and utilizes computers and test equipment for more than 6 hours a day.

• Continuous communication which includes the comprehension of information with colleagues, customers, and vendors both in person and remotely.
