GENERAL SUMMARY

This is the Invention Age – and this is where you come in as a member of multimedia hardware design team. Qualcomm’s Multimedia Group is seeking candidates for its VLSI hardware design implementation team in Santa Clara, CA. The team develops image/video/computer vision processing IPs for integration into Qualcomm’s Snapdragon mobile processor. A successful candidate will possess understanding of ASIC design flows and the challenges posed by advanced deep sub-micron technologies. The candidate will manage all aspects of front-end implementation and will interact with other teams to support new methodologies and new flows required to address better QoR like performance, power, and area.

The selected candidate will have the following responsibilities:

+ RTL to GDS2 flow, tools and methodologies such as synthesis, static timing analysis, formal verification, physical design and ECO generation/verification

+ RTL synthesis using physical and power aware tools

+ Formal Verification using industry standard tools for RTL to netlist and netlist to netlist logic equivalence and low power checks

+ Close design timing by running static timing analysis and constraint development

+ Generate and verify ECOs for functional and timing fixes, working closely with the physical design team

+ Low Power synthesis flows for multiple corners

+ Support physical design teams for netlist place and route and tapeout

+ Identify areas for flow and process improvements

+ Work with Design/Verification team on top/core/block level gate level verification

Minimum Qualifications

+ Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or closely related field

+ 2+ years of experience with synthesis, static timing, timing closure, conformal low power, and formal verification

Preferred Qualifications

+ Knowledge and experience of working in a multimedia design and development environment

+ Proficient in Perl, TCL, and shell scripting

+ Hands on experience with front end EDA tools such as Synopsys Next Generation tools, Cadence Genus, Conformal LEC, Synopsys Formality and Synopsys PrimeTime

+ Familiarity with the latest EDA tools for synthesis, logic equivalence checking, timing analysis, physical design.

+ Able to debug and solve complex, unique, and detailed issues.

2+ years ASIC design, verification, or related work experience.
