About Detroit Labs
Detroit Labs was founded in 2011 with a vision for building digital products, services, and the teams that power them. We’re a diverse and inclusive workplace that strives toward justice and equity. A place unafraid to try new things. We bring our design and development expertise to a wide range of industries and offer a variety of opportunities in the web and mobile space.

Our commitment to people, teams, and community is what led to the launch of our Apprenticeship and OnSite programs. Through them, we educate and help guide the careers of software developers entering the field. These programs are only a couple of the ways we invest in our Detroit community, which includes initiatives launched by our own team members and supported by our leadership team.

Detroit Labs has over 100 employees, and offices in Detroit and Ann Arbor with remote-friendly support.

Delivery Lead at Detroit Labs
Our Delivery Leads assess and mitigate risk, remove roadblocks for the team, and serve as a primary contact throughout a project. You will combine project management, client management, scrum master, and business analyst responsibilities to oversee a project to delivery. You will maintain client and internal team expectations, provide partners with relevant project information, and use metrics to motivate changes. As a Delivery Lead you will report to the Delivery Lead Manager.

Average Day of a Delivery Lead
On an average day you will seek out and remove impediments for the development team. You will work with the client to understand their business problems and decompose them into user stories, acceptance criteria, requirements, and designs. You will lead and facilitate collaborative team cadence meetings, focusing on maintaining a healthy team environment. You will use reports to forecast potential risks and work with the team and client to mitigate them. You will oversee client/customer/vendor relations to ensure that service expectations are met or exceeded and work with the technical members of the team to ensure that production vision and technical execution are in harmony.

Expectations at 30, 60, 90 Days
In your first month, you will be introduced to the team and project. You will work with a mentor for onboarding support who will help you get set-up with the tools, tips and tricks you need to be successful. This is your opportunity to work with other Delivery Leads and other roles at Detroit Labs.

In your second month, you will be focused on building a relationship with the client and team. You will have the opportunity to facilitate an equitable team agreement and lead two successful sprints. You will create project dashboards, accounting metrics, and performance management indicators to help everyone understand the project status. Your Delivery Lead team will continue to support you and you’ll participate in bi-weekly meetings to share learnings with one another.

In your third month, you will have developed a deeper understanding of the project and leverage that understanding in an effort to improve team processes. You will be encouraged to continue to seek out and provide meaningful feedback to our team. You will have the opportunity to share your knowledge outside of your teams with greater Labs in many formats.
