Qualcomm’s Product Development Lifecycle Management (PDLM) organization is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer with 3+ years to work in the Hardware IP management team supporting EDA Design Management methods. Candidate will interface with various cross functional teams (Engineering, CAD, IT Cross functions, and Business Operations) and external vendors to execute the implementations for incorporating the latest solutions in the production program to improve operational efficiency, productivity, and time to market.Basic QualificationsCandidate should have above average skills with scripting languages, along with Agile and DevOps tools and methodologies. Candidate should also have skills with automation (CI/CD) environments such as Jenkins. Strong Automation background using Python, Perl, Go and exposure to Linux in the areas of administration, troubleshooting and scripting. Candidate should demonstrate good communication skills, excellent problem solving and resolution skills and understanding of the software development lifecycle.Responsibilities• Ability to develop scripts, triggers, APIs for integration of applications• Conducts thorough Analysis, Automation, Triage, Troubleshooting, Design, Optimization & Performance Enhancements• Good understanding on Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), Application Lifecycle Management (ALM), Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL), CMMI, Scrum, Agile• Strong proponent for Best Practices & full Project Lifecycle support, Version Control & Source Control Methodologies / Procedures, Build & Deployment Automation / Continuous Delivery (CD) / DevOps, Code Merges / Continuous Integration (CI)• Modifies and/or develops complex tools and workflows that improve productivity and efficiency of design team.• Applies basic knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Python, Perl, JAVA, C++) to optimize features and tools, and continuously seeks to acquire the latest programming languages and methodologies.• Provides timely and accurate responses to common questions and issues from customers (e.g., design engineers).• Performs root cause analyses on standard customer problems to identify underlying issue.• Writes tests to screen out issues reported by customers.• Debugs straightforward software issues and escalates more complex issues to technical leads as necessary.• Publishes (e.g., writes, reviews, and edits) product technical documentation.• Gathers requirements from users and/or vendors to write moderately complex scripts.
ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
+ 3+ years IT Experience in EDA industry dealing with Design Management or related work experience.
Physical Requirements• Frequently transports between offices, buildings, and campuses up to ½ mile.• Frequently transports and installs equipment up to 20 lbs.• Performs required tasks at various heights (e.g., standing or sitting).• Monitors and utilizes computers and test equipment for more than 6 hours a day.• Continuous communication which includes the comprehension of information with colleagues, customers, and vendors both in person and remotely.
