Position Purpose: EnProVera is currently looking for a General Office Worker (GOW) supporting the United States Customs and Immigration Services (USCIS) regional office in Oakland Park. GOWs support the USCIS and its mission to administer the nation’s lawful immigration system, safeguarding its integrity and promise by efficiently and fairly adjudicating requests for immigration benefits while protecting Americans, securing the homeland, and honoring our values.
Assists applicants by providing requested forms and directing applicant flow
Answers phones on-site and directs calls to the appropriate person(s)
Provides support to applicants utilizing electronic systems
Schedules and/or reschedules dates and times of interviews and naturalization ceremonies
Performs tasks related to preparing for and conducting naturalization ceremonies, including distribution of naturalization certificates and the retrieval of documentation from applicants
Provides support for the processing of forms and applications used in the adjudication process
Receives files into USCIS individual codes
Bundles cases for Preliminary interview and deliver to the unit
Processes cases for interviews through USCIS system
Creates drafts for bundling
Processes and logs incoming action mail
Responds to file requests and requests missing files
Assists with scheduling naturalization cases for preliminary interviews
Required Skills and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent
1 year of office-related experience
Some knowledge of Microsoft & Excel applications is necessary
Attention to detail
Ability to relate to others in a friendly, courteous, and business-like manner in a highly stressful environment
Ability to lift 45 lbs. or more consistently
Daily tasks may require sitting or standing for long periods of time
Mobility is frequent throughout the file room by moving on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for moving files to and from the worksite. The shelving of files also creates the need to be able to lift boxes overhead.
Must be able to obtain a Public Trust/Suitability Clearance under the Department of Homeland Security from the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services
