HOW YOU CAN CONTRIBUTE
Under the supervision of an Evaluator/Project Coordinator/Data Manager, the Field Researcher (Interviewer) will coordinate with the team to schedule or attend data collection times, collect survey data on tablets or via the phone from homeless youth, enter tracking data (participant contact information, study status information, status updates, etc.) into an online program, perform other data tasks as assigned, and keep careful documentation about these activities. The ideal candidate will be familiar with the research process, including following data collection protocols, using tablets for data collection, and documenting activities. The majority of the activities will take place on an unpredictable schedule based on the needs of the young mothers and will include mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends. This is a hybrid position and will require travel in/around Los Angeles County and San Diego County.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL
- Some research/evaluation experience desirable, preferably in social science or related field.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Sociology, Psychology, Public Health, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field preferrable.
- Previous experience with data collection and/or data entry in online programs and in-person.
- High oral fluency in English and in Spanish is highly desired.
- Prior experience and success working with adolescents is highly desired.
- Skilled in oral communication and relationship building.
- Comfortable working with online survey technology.
- Accurate record-keeping and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, and to manage several tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to adapt to timeline adjustments and reorganize work accordingly.
- Responsible and able to follow through on all tasks with minimal supervision.
- Willing and able to travel locally. Ability and availability to drive in Los Angeles County or San Diego County.
- Willing to work evenings or weekends as project needs require.
- Strong organizational, analytic, writing, verbal, and interpersonal skills required.
- Valid California driver’s license; acceptable DMV record and proof of insurance required.
Location: Hybrid – California – Los Angeles County and San Diego County
Employment Status: 50% FTE. Temporary project based. This position is eligible for PTO and holidays at 50% FTE, and will end in December 2024, with the possibility of work extending beyond that time.
Starting Pay Range: This is a part-time (temporary) position at 50% FTE. The typical hiring range for this position is $18.00 to $25.00 per hour. The starting salary is determined based on the candidate’s knowledge, skills, and experience.
