Overview
FEMA is seeking a Supervisory Government Information Specialist in Washington DC.
The ideal candidate is an expert in Federal legal, regulatory and policy frameworks in the area of Privacy and the Privacy Act of 1974, with excellent oral and written presentation skills. Knowledge of Disclosure, Records, and Freedom of Information Act is preferred. This position starts at a salary of $155,700 (GS-15). In this position, you will serve as the Information Management, reporting to the Deputy Chief Administrative Officer.
Typical assignments include:
Serving as the primary authoritative figure in evaluating legislative and regulatory compliance of personal identifiable information, risk management, and assessing potential impacts and liabilities to privacy subject matters.
Ensuring organizational strategic plans, objectives, and core values are communicated thru integrated business processes and lines of businesses, promoting customer experience while reducing complexities in delivered products.
Supervising a group of highly technical, subject matter experts, and senior level employees, providing administrative and technical supervision necessary for accomplishing the work of the unit.
Performing administrative and human resource management functions.

Deployments: Our mission requires us to deploy around the country when disaster strikes. Every FEMA employee has day-to-day emergency management responsibilities, though not every position requires deployment to disaster sites. During your deployment, you may be required to work irregular hours, work at locations other than your official duty station, and pick up duties other than those specified in the official position description. Travel required to support emergency operations may be extensive (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.
