The Audio Visual (AV) Technician II will be responsible for maintaining and supporting the AV environment at FireKeepers Casino Hotel. This includes scheduled inspections of all AV equipment to ensure that it is kept in good working order.  Provides technical support across the property, including events, while demonstrating a strong skillset with troubleshooting AV equipment as well as AV systems knowledge.


An applicant’s education, training, and experience must be sufficient to demonstrate that the applicant possesses the ability to successfully perform each of the essential duties and responsibilities satisfactorily.

High school diploma, GED or equivalent. Two year combination of a technical degree or certification and three years AV technical work experience. Advanced knowledge of AV equipment, computers, applications, and technology.  Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment. Must be able to take direction from other AV/IT staff. Must be at least 21 years of age.


Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study and three years of work experience in an AV technical environment.  Crestron, Q-sys, CoolSign, BrightSign, ETC/Mosaic, SVSi, or comparable advanced AV systems experience preferred. Professional experience as an escalation point of contact or lead.


The following is a list of the primary duties and responsibilities of Audio Visual (AV) Technician II.  Other duties may be assigned as deemed necessary by business requirements and management. All duties must be performed in accordance with Tribal, Federal, and other applicable requirements, organizational specific policies, procedures and practices.

  • Read and interpret room diagrams for AV setup requirements.
  • Ensure setup and striking of AV equipment is complete for all events.
  • Respond to requests from the AV Manager.
  • Serves as a point of escalation for the AV Tech I’s.
  • Troubleshoot AV equipment and systems.
  • Serve as AV support for events.
  • Serve as a point of escalation for AV Tech I’s.
  • Provide basic instruction on the operation of AV equipment to customers as necessary.
  • Works closely with all groups within IT to ensure that any problems or issues encountered with AV equipment are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Clean, organize and maintain AV equipment.
  • Log and report equipment damages to the AV Manager.
  • Assist with inventory, asset control, and storage of AV equipment.
  • Attend AV staff meetings and training sessions.
  • Be attentive to the safety and security of FireKeepers Casino Hotel.
  • Be aware of emergency procedures and troubleshoot concerns throughout the facility.
  • Escalate unresolved and system critical issues to AV Tech III’s, AV Engineers and the AV Manager in a timely manner.
  • Provide exemplary user support and interact positively with guests, coworkers, and supervisors.  Greet guests positively, treating each person respectfully and in a professional manner.  Demonstrates skill in dealing with user and guest concerns using active listening skills to determine symptoms and to gain comprehensive understanding of issues as they arise.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a Team Member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The duties of this position require the ability to sit/stand at a computer, regularly perform daily walks and property assessments. AV Technician II is required to lift up to 70lbs, work on ladders, handle inventory in the AV/IT warehouse, and perform AV related work around property.

Must be able to work in a busy and dynamic casino environment, including exposure to smoking, flashing lights, loudness, and crowds.
