Tribal Administrator / Executive Director

The Hydaburg Cooperative Association is seeking an experienced and dynamic Tribal Administrator / Executive Director to lead and manage the daily operations of the Tribe. This position oversees programs, staff, and finances; ensures compliance with Tribal, federal, and state regulations; and supports the Tribal Council in advancing governance, programs, and community development.
Key Responsibilities:
· Implement Tribal Council policies, directives, and resolutions.
· Oversee departments, staff, and programs to ensure effective service delivery.
· Manages and regularly reports on finances, budgets, and grants with transparency and accountability.
· Ensure compliance with labor, safety, and reporting requirements.
· Strengthen partnerships with community, regional, and government entities.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Tribal Management, or related field (Master’s preferred). Experience in lieu of education will be considered.
· Minimum of 5+ years of progressive administrative and supervisory experience, ideally in Tribal or nonprofit settings.
· Knowledge of Alaska Native governance, Federal & State grant management, and compliance.
· Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Compensation:
· $109,000–$135,000/year, DOE, plus benefits.
· TA Provided Housing (4 bedroom)
· TA Provided Vehicle
