Position:                C-Store Assistant Manager

One to Three years C-Store Management experience preferred.
The Assistant Store manager is responsible for assisting day to day store operations, including scheduling,
training, and supervising employees and other duties as assigned by manager.

Assist in the recruiting of, recommend for hire, and train, positive individuals to
become members of the Team, ensuring excellent customer service.

Motivate, encourage, and challenge store cashiers.
Promote and resolve customer complaints, in a timely and professional manner.
Implement and enforce established daily operating procedures to ensure store is clean,
adequately stocked, organized, and well kept.

Ensure all merchandise is stocked and displays are attractive, priced correctly, and
displayed in a safe manner.

Maintain quality brand image standards as pass evaluations.
Monitor daily retail gasoline competitors.
Complete daily paperwork and computer entry in a timely manner as established by

Monitor cash over/short, inventory shrinkage, and drive offs daily.
Have the physical ability to perform all duties of a store cashier regularly.
Understand all information in the daily reporting of store operations.
Follow and enforce all Company Policies and Established Procedures in the store

Assist in Implementing Monthly promotions, ensure all POS advertising/signage is properly
posted at the proper time.

Communicate and perform all price change request, mark downs / ups as requested by Manager.
Communicate any problems with merchandise pricing to the Price Book

Implement and enforce all merchandising and vendor policies and procedures.
Enforce all Safety and Security Issues and report any and all unsafe conditions.
Assist in reporting and processing all employee and/ or customer incidents or accidents following
company procedure.


Supports the C-Store Manager by implementing policies and procedures as required interacts with staff in the day to day operations of the C-Store.
Serves as required by the C-Store Manager up and including covering for the C-Store manager in his or her absence.
Provides leadership direction as assigned in accordance with the store organizational structure.
Maintains existing media and develops new local contacts in applicable feeder markets.
Assisting Manager in proposing and creating new and unique promotional ideas and work with vendors.
Attends scheduled management meetings and presents marketing related information to Manager.
Determines work procedures, helps manager prepare work schedules, and expedites workflow.
Ensures that all department employees are adhering to the attendance policy.
Ensures that all department employees are in compliance with appearance standards.
Ensures that all department employees understand the Eye-Hi-Goodbye Program and are complying with the program.
Issues written and oral instructions.
Assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates.
Maintains harmony among workers and resolves grievances.
Performs other related duties as may be assigned by Manager.

The team member is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, including second-hand environmental smoke. The team member may be exposed to the risks associated in attempting to resolve issues with extremely irate or difficult guests or staff members. The noise level in the work environment varies from light to moderate.

The team member is expected to adhere to all casino policies and applicable federal/state/local regulations.

The La Jolla Indian Reservation was established by Executive Order of the President of the United States, Ulysses S. Grant, on December 27, 1875 however it has been home for over a thousand years. The La Jolla Band of Luiseño Indians is one of six federally recognized Luiseño Tribes in Southern California with a reservation consisting of nearly 10,000 acres located at the base of Palomar Mountain in Northern San Diego County, California.​​

"In May 2019" the La Jolla Trading Post added 76 slot machines within a 2,500-square-foot gaming area making it the only 100% smoke-free Casino in the state of California.
