This is the Invention Age – and this is where you come in.Over the last few decades the Modem systems group at Qualcomm has been instrumental in driving the mobile communication revolution which has touched every aspects of our modern life. From the early days of CDMA to 3G UMTS to 4G LTE , LTE Advanced and now onto 5G NR, Qualcomm modem systems group has been a key player in moving these technologies from concept to lab to actual mass scale real life deployments. You now have an opportunity of joining this team which drove the 4G LTE based smartphone revolution and is now best positioned to expand into new areas such as 5G NR, IoT, Vehicular communication(V2X). You can work in areas as diverse as 3GPP standardization efforts (in RAN2 and RAN4), high level architecture studies, modem algorithm design and development, Machine Learning and its application to WWAN Radio design, power efficient design, verification and commercialization. Get in on the ground floor of these new emerging technologies and help shape the future.

The ideal candidate will have the following:

+ MS in Electrical engineering with Digital Communications and/ Information Theory emphasis.

+ 3+ years of work experience preferably in NR or LTE

+ Communication theory

+ Programming in C/C++ and Matlab

+ Working experience in more than one of the following technologies: NR, LTE, UMTS, GSM, 1xRTT and WLAN.

+ Ability to program effectively in C/C++, and Matlab.

+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

+ Strong debugging experience and log analysis

+ Experience in RF interfaces, RF front end, and layer 1 procedures will be valuable.

+ Experience with end-2-end performance analysis is a plus

A successful candidate will perform the following tasks:

+ Design proprietary algorithms and procedures for concurrent operation in Multi-SIM systems engineering

+ Debug performance issues due to outages and come up with solutions across different layers

+ Theoretical analysis and simulation of features, algorithms, and implementation choices

+ Presenting & documenting specification, designs, and other results to cross disciplinary teams

+ Supporting the implementation and commercialization of features

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

Bachelors – Computer Engineering, Bachelors – Computer Science, Bachelors – Electrical Engineering

Work Experiences:

5+ years Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.

Work Experiences:

1+ years of applicable wireless, semiconductor and/or embedded software industry experience. ,6 months of WWAN modem development specific experience. ,5+ years experience with programming (e.g., C, C++, Python), computer architecture, or embedded systems. ,1+ years in a technical leadership role with or without direct reports (only applies to positions with direct reports).
