GENERAL SUMMARY:

Directs daily activities for Qualcomm branded Modules for the Automotive Business Unit. This position will lead the definition of Modules using the latest Qualcomm chipsets for Automotive Applications. Establishes Module Cost Targets in line with Market Requirements and works closely with Engineering, Packaging and Sourcing to constantly improve Product Cost. Maintains the opportunity funnel for Qualcomm branded Modules for Mass Production and Sampling Requirements. Coordinates detail RFQ responses for specific customer opportunities for Qualcomm branded Automotive Modules.

The responsibilities of this role include:

+ Working independently with little supervision.

+ Making decisions that are significant in impact; maintains rapid progress and removes roadblocks.

+ Using verbal and written communication skills to convey complex and/or detailed information to multiple individuals/audiences with differing knowledge levels. Negotiates with external parties and internal groups for necessary support.

+ Provides support for other aspects of module product management and operational aspects.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

+ Write and maintain Module level PRDs for Qualcomm branded modules for key module specifications including specific Product Cost Requirements.

+ Sets appropriate Product Cost targets based on Market Requirements and Competitive offerings and translates them into operational plans.

+ Identifies and establishes appropriate SKUs for Modules to optimize market coverage and profitability. Works closely with Engineering and Packaging to ensure designs are being completed with cost targets as a primary requirement.

+ Working with the Sales Organization and Business Unit Domain Leads on maintenance of the Opportunity funnel for Modules. Regularly update financial views based on the opportunity funnel and input latest view on probabilities of winning specific programs.

+ Coordination of sample requirements for modules with Sales Ops and Program Management. Provide regular forecasting for pre-production samples.

+ Coordination of Product Kits for all modules including software release contents and provision of customer support. Propose changes, updates and modifications to Product Kit elements specifically targeting modules.

+ Assist in the development of customer pricing proposals using regularly updated costs and cost models.

+ Coordinate necessary materials from internal functional teams for RFI and RFQ responses as well as detailed Module related customer responses in a timely fashion.

+ Assemble and maintain up to date information and intelligence on competitive module offerings. Benchmark Qualcomm offerings versus competitive intelligence on an ongoing basis.

+ Product Management – The ability to direct a comprehensive product strategy and how to introduce them into the Automotive market and ecosystem.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

+ Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science or related field.

+ 5+ years Product Management or related work experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

+ 10+ years Product Management, Engineering or other related work experience.

+ Background in the development of HW products (e.g. Modules, Mobile devices, IOT or Consumer Electronics)

+ Knowledge of the silicon industry and technology

+ Master’s Degree in Engineering or Business Administration.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

+ Frequently transports between offices, buildings, and campuses up to ½ mile.

+ Frequently transports and installs equipment up to 5 lbs.

+ Performs required tasks at various heights (e.g., standing or sitting).

+ Monitors and utilizes computers and test equipment for more than 6 hours a day.

+ Continuous communication which includes the comprehension of information with colleagues, customers, and vendors both in person and remotely.
