Overview
Job Purpose:
The Senior Accountant and Procurement Officer is responsible for managing financial records and the procurement process. This role involves preparing financial statements and ensuring accuracy of accounting and financial information. It also involves fulfillment of process requests, purchase orders, and supplier/vendor relations.
Duties:
Accounting
– Prepare monthly, quarterly and year-end financial statements
– Ensure accuracy of accounting and financial data
– Analyze financial performance and cash flow
– Generate reports and financial analysis
– Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
– Research and resolve accounting issues
– Prepare tax returns, reports and other required documents
– Prepare audit schedules and provide information to external auditors
– Assist with budgeting and forecasting
– Generate reports for departments
– Payroll and maintenance of records
– Keep track of accounts payable and accounts receivable
– Bank reconciliations for all bank accounts
– Balance American Express and VISA credit cards accounts
– Pay all invoices in a timely manner
– Enter monthly journal entries
– Deposit all incoming payments
Procurement
– Work with Directors of departments to process Request for Quotes and Purchase Orders
– Maintain records of purchases, pricing and other important data
– Review and analyze all vendors/suppliers, supply and price options
– Maintain copies of W9s and Certificate of Insurance for all vendors as needed
– Communicate with vendors and contractors that are awarded work
Employment Details
Location: St. Stephens Church, VA. Position is in-person and requires travel between multiple locations including the Tribal Center, Fones Cliffs, and Belle Isle State Park.
Compensation: Pay commensurate with experience
